Brazil Expands Online Access to Public Services

Brazil has taken a big step toward making public services more accessible to residents. With a single gov.br online account, you can now log in to dozens of local, state, and federal government platforms using one integrated set of credentials. The system makes access not only simpler but also more secure for users.

The gov.br account eliminates the need to remember separate logins for each government website you visit. Instead, it works as a centralized system that gives you access to services from the Federal Revenue Service (Receita Federal), the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), the public healthcare system (SUS), the transit department (DETRAN), trade boards, and many others.

With a gov.br login, you can file your federal tax return through e-CAC, track your employment history on the Meu INSS portal, request unemployment benefits, and access your digital work card (carteira de trabalho). You can also update your personal information, check your driver’s license points, and download digital versions of your driver’s license, ID, and voter registration card.

Creating a gov.br account is simple. Just enter your CPF number, email address, and telephone number at www.gov.br. Or, if you prefer, download the mobile app. Once your account is active, you can log in to most government websites right away.

If you’re navigating Brazilian bureaucracy, start by setting up your gov.br account. It’s free, fast, and your key to almost everything. These days, it’s hard to imagine getting anything done in Brazil without one.
